The cycle Women in Music continues with a chamber concert at the Goethe-Institut Prag on June 21

The cycle Women in Music, part of the Musica non grata project, continues with a chamber concert at the Goethe-Institut in Prague on June 21. In collaboration with the Lieder Society, we will present the works of the sisters Nadia and Lili Boulanger, personalities who influenced several generations of musicians in the 20th century. We will immerse ourselves in the extraordinarily beautiful and original song compositions of Vítězslava Kaprálová from her time studying in Brno and Prague. The program will include four late romantic songs by Alma Mahler and three song cycles by the Czech composer Sláva Vorlová, which are practically unknown. Among them is the exceptional opus Nostalgia based on the words of Olga Scheinpflugová, in which the composer dealt with the brutal murder of her husband, Rudolf Vorel. Three young Czech vocal talents – Tamara Morozová, Viktorie Kaplanová Dugranpere, and Monika Jägerová –, will take the stage, accompanied by pianist Vojtěch Červenka and the NeoKlasik Orchestra. If you love songs and crave new discoveries, then this event is exactly for you! FREE ADMISSION (due to limited seating capacity, we recommend reserving tickets by June 19 at the email address i.nevoralova@narodni-divadlo.cz).
